August 2021 Operator of the Month – Michael Walton

 

Michael Walton has been chosen as our Driver of the Month for August of 2021. Michael has been driving TSH for nearly 3 years. A true family man, he passes the time while on the road keeping up with his family, especially his wife. While not hauling he enjoys doing ANYTHING with his family! He tries his best to NEVER miss a football game with his wife and kids. Home time is very important to Michael, he is at home as much as possible.

He credits his family, driver manager Kim, and the dispatch team at TSH for helping him to be successful. “If I have an issue with the truck or freight I know I can pick up the phone and call ANY department at TSH and my issue will be sorted out right away!”

Tennessee Steel Haulers is an important part of Michael realizing the balance of providing for his family while still being able to spend quality time with them. When asked what he values MOST about TSH he responded, “The freedom! I love the freedom that TSH gives me to work the way I want and need to work for my family. I have never had this much freedom with any company I have ever worked for in the past.”

Michael told us his most memorable load with TSH “was an OD load that was so wide it felt like I only had about an inch on either side through a construction zone. Talk about white knuckle driving!”

Finally, Michael left us with parting advice for all drivers, “I would advise them to slow down and take their time. Make sure every load is properly secured. never get ahead of yourself and make sure your equipment is maintained at all times.”
